The Bride

The nature has given her the beauty
And changed calendars, the age
Reminded her parents, of their duty
Of making their daughters marriage

When the word ‘marriage’ touched her ears
Little smile crossed her lips in shy
But a fear for future years
Is revealed in her unspoken eyes

Born out of parents love
And brought up with the parents care
She looks like a golden dove
Who would be her perfect pair?

From the little steps learnt from father
She will be stepping a new home
From the taste of food fed by her mother
She will be cooking for the kin

She never considers looks and prosperity
Are the qualifications to be her spouse
She just craves for a bit love and care
That can replace everything in this world

Accepting change in every step
Of life, a girl becomes bride
Generations may leap, giving birth to younger
But changes in bride’s feelings will never occur.
